This smoothie bowl is chock full of nutrients and extremely filling. It’s great as a refreshing breakfast or light lunch and naturally sweet. You can be creative with toppings and change up up the fruits, but this is what I consider to be my go-to, classic acai smoothie bowl. Acai is a berry that is similar to a blueberry found in the Amazon and contain tons of antioxidants as well as anti-inflammatory properties. The fruit itself cannot be found in America, but can be purchased as powder or frozen packets in a health food store. It’s a delicious new trend and definitely something worth trying.

  • 1 bowl


  • Medium banana
  • ½ cup strawberries
  • ½ cup blackberries
  • 1 60z container of plain yogurt (I use green valley organics lactose freed yogurt)
  • ¼ cup of almond milk
  • 1 tbsp. acai powder
  • 1 tbsp. chia seeds


  • Chop fruit up and place in blender. Reserve a few slices of banana, a sliced strawberry, and a couple of blackberries to top. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth.
  • Scrape down sides of blender and blend again to insure everything is incorporated and blended nicely. The smoothie should be thick enough to eat with a spoon and not thin enough to drink. Add a few ice cubes or another tbsp. of chia seeds to thicken it up if it’s too thin or add a little bit more milk if it’s too thick.
  • Once it is at desired consistency pour into a bowl and top with reserved fruit. You may also add granola, nuts, or a drizzle of honey. Be creative and enjoy!
